"Mock Event" Clinic & Combined Test Update

Greetings,

Just a few notes regarding the  "Mock Event" clinic and Combined Test:

• All participants MUST sign a release form
• The dressage demo, followed by a course walk and show jumping will begin @ 6:30 NEW TIME: 4:30 on Fri.  We are fortunate to have Sue Hines to be our demo rider on one of her Preliminary mounts.  If anyone would like to attend the demo only is $10.
• Here is a link with directions to the farm, a gogle  map, a farm area map and a stabling area map for those who have not been here before
• Please note: The drive to stabling is ONE WAY!  DO NOT drive in the neighbor’s hay field!  They are generous enough to allow us to use their drive, please don’t jeopardize that by driving in their field.
• All parking will be in the stabling. Please do not block the drive pull in counter clockwise and park south of the small pipe barn.  Do not block the drive
• for those stabling; you may pick whatever stall you would like but PLEASE NOTE: no bedding will be provided and stalls must be stripped
• The secretary will be located the dome
• Riders may warm up for dressage in the ring adjacent to the drive or in the field to the north
• Access to the dressage warm up will be between the dome & the drive as to not disturb tests in progress.
• Dressage clinic participants will start their assisted warm up with Kyle 20 minutes before your scheduled dressage  ride time.  Your test will be judged and after your ride Jackie will work with you to improve your ride. 
• Jumping clinic participants will ride first in their jumping sections.  Meet Kyle in the warm up at least 15 minutes before your ride time.  You will then ride your course & be judged and then Jackie will work with you to improve on your ride if desired.
• Anyone may do addition jumping round, not to be judged, for $10/ride
• Cross country schooling will be available for $25 for those participating in the Combined Test and $35 for those not competing. All riders must sign in and receive a number.  PLEASE NOTE: the field by the pond in the back may NOT be available do to soft footing.

June 23rd Mini Trials - Final Update

Just few quick notes to help you have a better weekend at Stone Gate Farm.  For those schooling on Sat, you must pick up your number first and you must have a ground person, wear a vest and if you have it a medical armband.  Those who are not stabled will park in the parking field to the west of the house.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use some common sense when schooling.  There is no reason to jump a fence more than a couple of times and be aware of what other riders are doing.  There is no need to jump the same fence repeatedly unless you are having trouble.  We want to preserve your horses' legs and the footing not to mention it is going to be hot and we don't want any horses or riders getting heat stroke.

For those who have not been to SGF before; click here for dir ections to the farm, a stabling area map and more.  Disregard the farm map as the was for an earlier competition, scroll down to see a farm map for this competition. Stabling assignments are listed on the top of the Start Box page.   As always parking is always very tight in the stabling area.  Please squeeze in and be considerate of other competitors.  Cars are ONLY allowed to park in the designated car parking area.  You may use the drive during the competition but wait until a test is completed to pass.  The drive is ONE WAY, incoming vehicles have the right away.

Below is an over all schedule and actual times can be found on Start Box. Keep in mind that the schedule is very tight and you will be expected to ride you dressage on time but those with multiple rides may jump anytime within their level  Please be sure to check in with the paddock person upon your arrival to the warm up areas.  Please refer to the map below for access routes to the dressage arena warm up areas. All riders will be allowed to take ONE lap around the inside of the arena as soon as the horse before them has done their final salute. To facilitate traffic flow; those who are stabled may exit the dressage arenas at the C end of the arena.  Those in ring 1 will exit by the pond and those in ring 2 will exit between the drive and the dome.  Show jumping warm up is limited and we ask that ONLY those horses warming up be in teh warm up area.  Others are to wait on either the east or west ends of the arena.

PLEASE NOTE:

             All Intro and Very Green Mini Trials will ride in the grass arena and will ride Intro B.  All Intro dressage only will also ride in the grass arena. (refer to the map below)  Starters will do Intro C and ALL other divisions will do the A tests.

Even though your entry status may not show it; all online entries must sign a release form, all non NEOMTA members must pay a $5 non member fee, and all stabled horses must pay a $10 stall cleaning deposit check unless you paid for the stall cleaning service.  Finally NO BEDDING IS PROVIDED unless you ordered and paid for it.

June 16th: Entry Status is now available on  Start Box

June 10th:

As we're preparing for the SGF Mini Trials on June 23rd I wanted to let you know that entry status / ride times/ stabling assignments/ results will be available on Start Box next week. If you haven't gotten your entry in yet there is still time.  It has come to my attention that the closing date for the SGF Mini is listed on the NEOMTA site as Wed June 12th instead of Tues June 11th so you get an extra day to enter. We will accept all entries through June 12th without assessing a late fee.  However we ask that any entries at this late date be made on-line.  Click here for the on-line registration form (this one works)  We may accept late entries if we have room available but please contact the organizer before making a late entry to verify that there is space available.  If late entries are accepted they MUST be made and paid for on-line.  You will be sent an invoice as the PayPal buttons don't seem to be working at this time.  Please note that if you  have made an on-line entry; your payment must be mailed no later than June 13th otherwise you will be billed, assessed a late fee & a transaction fee for on-line payment and will not be given a ride time until payment is received.  Enough business, now onto the important stuff .... cross country courses.

Finally, the chaotic cross country schooling on the Sat before the Mini Trials makes me crazy.  If anyone would like to make an appointment to school before Sat please contact me.

I think that's it for now.  With the Lucinda Green clinic Wed & Thurs (auditors welcome) and Lost Hounds this weekend, I will not have the entries processed until early next week.  Looking forward to another fun Mini Trials ... hope to see many of you here in one capacity or another.

It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day for a Hunter Pace on Mon.  It's hard to imagine that while we're enjoying the farm and our horses so many have lost everything including their horses to the recent tornadoes in OK.  Since Mon is Memorial day, in addition to remembering the men and women who have sacrificed for our country, will be running the Spring Hunter Pace in memory of all who lost so much during the .  Stone Gate Farm is pledging 10% from every entry to be sent to fellow Eventers at Plain as Day Eventing whose farm was destroyed including all of their horses.   Click here to read more.

Winona Competitor Pre-event Letter

Welcome to the Winona Horse Trials.   Please read the information below and even if you have been coming here for years please read as we have changed a few things.

• Entry Status, Start Times & Stabling Assignments: are now available on Start Box  please check to make sure we have you in the correct division and notify the secretary  asap if there is a problem. Also, if you see that your entry is NOT complete it would be greatly appreciated if you could get that taken care of before your arrival.
• Start times & stabling assignments will be available Wed. May 8th on Start Box.  The overall schedule currently was sent in a previous e-mail. Be sure to check the overall schedule in your program for the breaks when Show Jumping will be available for walking
• Results can be accessed anytime during the competition by going to the above link.  Be sure to send the link to family and friends who won’t be coming with you so they can keep up to date on you results.  If you have smart phone or an i-pad you can check your scores anywhere anytime.  Scores will be posted in the dome and and in the small metal building in the middle near the day parking.
• Packets: we will have express check in for those who have complete and correct entries.  There will be an alpha list and you can help yourself to your packet.  On Fri Express Check in will be available at the dome until dark and Sat at the front porch of the house. For those who don't have complete entries; you will have to check in with the secretary at the house.  Feel free to stop and park in the front parking field to pick up your packets before heading to the stabling area. Don’t forget pick up maps and programs. 
• Competitors who DO NOT have complete entries MUST have what they need to make your entry complete  before you will be given a number.
• We’re using Snap Snap Texting Service for all competitors, support crew and volunteers.  When you can’t hear the PA you can be notified of any changes to the schedule, posting of scores etc.  It’s quick and easy to sign up at here
• We will be using paper pinnies.  The plastic pinny holders can be purchased at the tack shop which will be on grounds
• Please note: The drive to stabling is ONE WAY!  DO NOT drive in the neighbor’s hay field!  They are generous enough to allow us to use their drive, please don’t jeopardize that by driving in their field. We are going to try to leave the drive open during dressage (we have done this for a year now and it works quite well if people are considerate) as a convenience to competitors and to keep horses off the cross country course as much as possible.  However we have a few requests:
• if there is a horse doing their test in Ring 2 (closest to the drive) please wait until their test is completed before going down the drive
• it is requested that people get to and from the warm up through the pasture/cross country course especially if you have a dog or child in tow ;)
• those who are in the day parking field are asked to access the warm up are via Schneider Rd.
• All levels  and divisions will be doing the A Dressage Tests 
• The shuttle service will be running on Sat. We will have pick ups will be at the house, near the ‘dome’  near stabling barn & stadium area or call Kevin @ 234-567-1952
• Awards:  All divisions will have ribbons through 8^th place and an award for 1^st place. In addition to the prize winners will receive a My Course Walk app for i-phones or i-pads and the winner of the "closest to optimum time" on cross country will receive their choice of  one set of MOJO FutureTech Performance Discs for your Horse or Dogs or A single Hologram  Performance Band. A $40 Value. Check out the  the MoJo FB page For those who may have to leave before picking up your ribbon there will be envelops available that you can address and leave with $2 for mailing the ribbon to you. There will be additional awards that will be listed in the program
• Stabling:
• Initial bedding of straw will be provided.  If you do not want the initial bedding and you did not indicate so on your stabling form please e-mail secretary@stonegatefarm.org ASAP If you would like to order shavings click here.
• The lights in the barn run off a generator and will be shut off at 11:00PM on Fri.  You may want to bring a flashlight or head lamp. Stalls 59 - 70 do not have lights
• All stalls have gates but some of the stall gates may be a little difficult use, but if you lift them up in the center they are much easier to handle.
• Stalls must be stripped to have the ‘muck check’ destroyed

• Satellite Map of the farm will help you find your way around the farm. Please refer to the map on the website so you know where you are going. For those who have been coming for years may want to check out the map as well as you will are getting to and from the dressage warm up differently than in years past.
• Stable area map to help you locate your stall(s) and parking (which will be tight)

IMPORTANT There are TWO road closures that may affect you. 

1. Road Closing for those who are traveling from the PA Turnpike. SR 165 is closed just west of SR 7. You will continue South on SR 164 to Columbiana and SR 14. You will turn right onto 14 but do NOT follow the detour when it turns right as it will take you out of your way. Continue west on 14 into the town of Salem and and turn left onto Lincoln Ave (traffic light, Chamber of Comerce on left) until you get to SR 45 (Circle K on the right, it only turns right and there's a light). Continue to the 2nd light and this will be SR 9.  
2. For those coming from the north on 534; it is close just south of I76.  Do not follow the detour; turn left (at teh light) onto Mahoning Ave and proceed east until you get to SR 45 and turn right or south.  Just north of Salem 45 makes a right onto a 4 lane road, SR 9 will be the 3rd light.

Cross Country & Show Jump Maps will be available at the start box and the in gate to show jumping.  The cross country courses are all available now at My Course Walk  

Be sure to stop at the camper to check out the pics from Brant Gamma Photography and while your at it be sure to stop in at the Discount Stable tack trailer.  If you're in need of a plastic pinny holder you can buy one there.  and a sales rep for CWD Saddles will be on grounds over the weekend and the sales rep for the
